Descriere
The total energy consumption is the company's energy consumption coming from the following renewable sources:
- fuel consumption for renewable sources (including biomass, biogas, nonfossil fuel waste, hydrogen from renewable sources, etc.)
- consumption of purchased or acquired electricity, heat, steam, and cooling from renewable sources
- consumption of self-generated non-fuel renewable energy
Renewable sources are sources that are inexhaustible. As such, renewable energy covers wind, solar (solar thermal and solar photovoltaic) and geothermal energy, ambient energy, tide, wave and other ocean energy, hydropower, biomass, landfill gas, sewage treatment plant gas, and biogas.
Surse
EFRAG ESRS E1 Climate change. We derive the total "energy consumption" definition from paragraph 33.
Directive (EU) 2018/2001, Art. 2 (1) . Renewable sources
Exemple
Renewable sources: * 3,000 kWh of electricity from renewable sources (e.g., solar and wind) * 1,500 kWh of heat and steam from renewable sources * 500 kWh of self-generated non-fuel renewable energy (e.g., solar panels on-site)
The total energy consumption for this company would be the sum of all these values, which in this example would be 5,000 kWh.
